The itinerary for the first and last days is subject to change
according to the flight schedule of the travelers.
This tour package gives travelers the opportunity to visit and
experience the best that Bolivia has to offer beginning with Santa Cruz
and continuing on to Sucrey Potosí, El Salar de Uyuni, La
Laguna
Verde y La Laguna Colorada, La Paz and Tiwanacu.

DAY 1: SANTA CRUZ
Arrival at Santa Cruz; pick-up at airport and private
transfer to hotel upon arrival.
DAY 2: SANTA CRUZ
Flight to Sucre; private transfer to airport 2 hours
before
flight. Arrival at Sucre and transfer to hotel. Guided
sightseeing tour of the city at 14:00 (2:00 pm). Sucre, considered the
most beautiful city in Bolivia, is home to the Textile Museum which
exhibits indigenous folk art and handicrafts, the convent of La
Recoleta (closed on Mondays) and numerous churches that date from the
colonial period.
DAY 3: SUCRE – POTOSÍ
Meet at hotel at 9:00 to prepare for departure to
Potosí
in private transportation. Visitors will travel comfortably
on
well-maintained asphalt roads arriving relaxed and in high spirits.
Later on, in the afternoon there will be time for visitors to do some
sightseeing on their own in the magnificent historical district of this
colonial Bolivian city.
DAY 4: POTOSÍ
In the morning, visitors are taken on a guided tour of the
Potosí mines. This is a once in a lifetime experience that
allows the travelers to live the reality of the centuries old
exploitation of the indigenous people of Bolivia. During the afternoon
there will be free time for travelers to meander through the colonial
district of the city, taking it all the history represented in its
streets and buildings.
DAY 5: POTOSÍ – UYUNI
Departure at 10:00 for Uyuni. Visitors will travel by
local bus
traversing the rugged terrain of the Los Frailes Mountain Range
arriving at Uyuni in the afternoon. Optional excursion to
Pulacayo for the adventurous. Visitors get to experience an
exhilarating ride in four-wheel drive vehicle which leaves at 9:00 am
taking them cross country to explore the abandoned village of Pulacayo
which during the XVII and XVIII Centuries was the second largest silver
mine in Latin America. There is an onsite museum that exhibits the
artifacts of this prosperous era. A cold bag lunch included in the
price if travel is private.
DAY 6: UYUNI – VILLAMAR
Tour begins in a chauffeur-driven four-wheel drive vehicle
at
9:30 am taking visitors to the train graveyard in Uyuni. After stopping
to see the
empty husks of steam engines that used to transport hundreds of
Bolivians to and from their daily tasks, travelers will continue on to
the villages of Culpina K and San Cristóbal where the
splendid
frescos of the local churches can be viewed. Leaving these towns the
route will lead through the Rio Grande zone where there is always a
possibility to catch sight of vicunas – a llama-like animal
– or Andean ostriches (ñandúes). Later
on, the tour
finally reaches its destination of the village of Villamar. Full board
available includes a night in a hostel with limited living conditions.
DAY 7: VILLAMAR – LAGUNA VERDE – LAGUNA COLORADA
Departing from Villamar, the tour continues on to Colorada
Lake.
En route, the tour will stop to take time to observe the breathtaking
Sol de Mañana geysers, considered to be situated at the
highest
point of the tour (4850 m / 15,912 ft). Visitors will then
move
on to Salada Lake, the Dali Desert (so named for its shape), and the
Verde Lake, which lies at the base of the Licancabur Volcano (5960 m /
19,554 ft). Finally visitors will arrive at the Colorada Lake and spend
the night in a hostel with limited living conditions. Full board
available.
DAY 8: LAGUNA COLORADA – SAN JUAN
Heading north toward the magnificent Siloli Desert,
visitors
will get a chance to pass by the Rock Tree on the way to the Ruta de
Las Joyas (Route of the Jewels). This roadway follows along a series of
lakes that are inhabited by pink flamingos. In the distance the Ollaque
and Tomasamil volcanoes can be seen standing guard over the path of the
travelers. The highway then leads down to the Chiguana Salt Flat and
then on to the village of San Juan. Full board available
includes
a night in a hostel with limited living conditions.
DAY 9: SAN JUAN – SALAR – UYUNI – SALIDA
HACIA LA PAZ
After a 2-hour drive, the tour reaches the destination of
the
Salar de Uyuni (Uyuni Salt Lake), the largest salt flat on the
globe. The marked contrast between the azure blue of the sky
and
the stark white of the salt flat is an unforgettable image. The Isle of
Incahuasi (the fish) can be found at the heart of the salt lake. This
“island” which is the home to hundred-year-old
cacti is the
spot for lunch on this day. Later in the afternoon, the final
leg
of this amazing 4-day trip with a final destination of Uyuni will end
at the hotel made completely out of blocks of salt cut from the salt
lake. Lunch included and free choice of dinner. Departure for
La
Paz the next day:
Mondays and Thursdays: Wara Wara Train to Oruro departs at 1:45
am. Hotels available in Uyuni until departure time. Arrive at
Oruro a 9:10 am and then continue route to La Paz (4 hours) by private
transportation. Lodging in hotel.
Wednesdays and Saturdays: Expreso del Sur (Southern Express)
Train
to Oruro departs at 24:00 (12 midnight). Hotels available in
Uyuni until departure time. Arrive at Oruro a 9:10 am and then continue
route to La Paz (4 hours) by private transportation. Lodging in hotel.
Other days besides Wednesdays and Sundays: bus departs at 20:00 (8:00
pm) for La Paz. Arrive at La Paz at 7:30 am. Pick-up and transfer to
hotel by private transportation upon arrival.
DAY 10: ARRIVAL AT LA PAZ
Tour arrives at La Paz via Oruro at different schedules
according to the days of the week; private transportation to hotel upon
arrival. Leisure time.
DAY 11: LA PAZ
Meet guide at 9:00 at hotel for an unforgettable excursion
that
will take visitors to the most scenic sites of the city situated in the
valley that was carved out by the Choqueyapu River with the majestic
Cordillera Real as a backdrop. As visitors will note, this
mountain range boasts some of the most breathtaking peaks included
among them are the Huayna Potosí, Mururata and the
Illimani. The first point of interest will be the
K’lli
K’lli and eh Laykakota Park, where visitors can get an
amazing
panoramic view of La Paz. Leaving this area, the tour will lead
sightseers over the magnificent Puente de las Americas (The Americas
Bridge) which connects two popular areas of the city. Once over this
spectacular bridge, the tour will continue to La Plaza de
España
and the colonial neighborhood of Sopocachi. After visiting this
historic district, travelers will move on to the Valle de la Luna (Moon
Valley) where unusual lime formations can be found and easily reached
on foot. The heart of La Paz will be the center of attention
later on in the afternoon where visitors can shop at the local markets
and stroll along the Calle de las Brujas (Street of the Witches).
DAY 12: LA PAZ – TIWANAKU – SANTA CRUZ
Departure for the Tiwanacu ruins at 8:00 am. After a short
ride
of one and a half hours, an expert guide will take visitors around this
pre-Inca site and view the ancient relics of this time period at its
museum. Following the visit to the ruins, travelers go on to the La Paz
airport where the flight to Santa Cruza will depart. Pick-up
and
transfer by private transportation to hotel upon arrival. Leisure time.
DAY 13: SANTA CRUZ – AIRPORT
Meet at hotel for transfer to airport three hours previous
international flight. End of tour services.
DAY 14: POINT OF ORIGIN
Return flight to point of origin.

deposits in our foreign account: an advance deposit of USD 600 at the

of registration and the balance 30 days before the tour begins.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
It is mandatory to purchase travel insurance that is
essential
in case of misfortune, accident or illness during the tour. Under no
circumstances will Mashipura cover any unforeseen expenditures of this
nature.
